Eze 29:1-7 {s} The prophecy against Pharaoh king of Egypt, for he was a staff of reed to the house of Israel
Eze 29:8-12 {s} The sword upon the Egyptians, her cities desolate for 40 years, her people scattered to the nations
Eze 29:13-16 {p} After 40 years, her people regathered; Egypt the lowliest of kingdoms henceforward
Eze 29:17-18 {s} Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon labored against Tyre but did not receive its wages
Eze 29:19-21 {p} Therefore YHVH will give him Egypt for the wages of his labor, for he worked for YHVH
Eze 30:1-5 {p} Wail for the day of YHVH is near for the sword against Egypt, her allies falling with her
Eze 30:6-9 {s} Those who uphold Egypt shall fall, then they shall know that I am YHVH
Eze 30:10-12 {s} Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon brought to destroy the land of Egypt
Eze 30:13-19 {p} YHVH shall execute judgment on Egypt both idols and princes, they shall know He is YHVH
Eze 30:20-21 {s} YHVH has broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he cannot hold a sword
Eze 30:22-26 {p} YHVH is against Pharaoh/ scatter the Egyptians, put His sword in the hand of the king of Babylon
The chiastic structure:
1a.1) Eze 29:1-10a {s} I am against Pharaoh/he was a broken staff to the house of Israel/know that I am YHVH;
1a) Eze 29:1-3a, The prophecy against Pharaoh king of Egypt: I am against you;
1b) Eze 29:3b, O monster in the midst of his rivers, who claims the River as his own + his creation;
1c) Eze 29:4-6a, I will cause you to be drawn out where you shall fall/ the Egyptians shall know that I am YHVH;
central axis) Eze 29:6b-7 {s} Because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel. When they took hold of you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their backs quiver;
2c) Eze 29:8-9a, A sword to cut off man + beast, make the land desolate + waste/ you will know that I am YHVH;
2b) Eze 29:9b, Because he said, ‘The River is mine, and I have made it;’
2a) Eze 29:10a, Indeed, therefore, I am against you and against your rivers;
1a.2) Eze 29:10b-12 {s} Egypt laid waste + made desolate/ Egyptians scattered forty years;
1a) Eze 29:10b-11a, I will make Egypt waste + desolate to its border/ man nor beast shall pass through it;
1b) Eze 29:11b, And it shall be uninhabited forty years;
central axis) Eze 29:12a, I will make Egypt desolate in the midst of desolate countries + wasted cities;
2b) Eze 29:12b, Her cities shall be desolate forty years;
2a) Eze 29:12c {s} I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations + disperse them throughout the countries;
1b) Eze 29:13-16 {p} Egyptians regathered; Egypt the lowliest of kingdoms henceforward;
1c) Eze 29:17-21 {s+p} YHVH has given the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon;
1a) Eze 29:17, In the twenty-seventh year, the word of YHVH came to me, saying;
1b) Eze 29:18a, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon’s army labored strenuously against Tyre;
1c) Eze 29:18b {s} Yet he nor his army received wages from Tyre, for their labor against it;
central axis) Eze 29:19, Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he shall take away her wealth, carry off her spoil, and remove her pillage;’
2c) Eze 29:19b, And that will be the wages for his army;
2b) Eze 29:20, I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor, because they worked for Me, says YHVH God;
2a) Eze 29:21 {p} I will cause the horn Israel to spring forth/ I will open your mouth to speak/ know that I am YHVH;
1d) Eze 30:1-3, Thus says YHVH: Wail, woe to the day, for the day of YHVH is near;
1e) Eze 30:4, The sword shall come upon Egypt, and great anguish shall be in Ethiopia;
1f) Eze 30:5 {p} Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, Chub + all her allied lands shall fall with them by the sword;
central axis) Eze 30:6a, Thus says YHVH;
2f) Eze 30:6b-8, Egypt’s allies shall fall/ they shall know that I am YHVH when all her helpers are destroyed;
2e) Eze 30:9, Messengers shall go forth to make the Ethiopians afraid, and great anguish shall come upon them;
2d) Eze 30:9b {s} As on the day of Egypt; for indeed it is coming!
2c) Eze 30:10-12 {s} YHVH will bring Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to destroy the land of Egypt;
2b) Eze 30:13-19 {p} YHVH shall execute judgment on Egypt both idols + princes/ know He is YHVH;
2a.1) Eze 30:20-21 {s} YHVH has broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he cannot hold a sword;
2a.2) Eze 30:22-26 {p} I am against Pharaoh/ Egyptians scattered + YHVH’s sword/ know that I am YHVH;
1a) Eze 30:22, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms + make the sword fall out of his hand;
1b) Eze 30:23, I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations + disperse them throughout the countries;
1c) Eze 30:24a, I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand;
1d) Eze 30:24b, But I will break Pharaoh’s arms;
central axis) Eze 30:24c, Pharaoh will groan before him with the groanings of a mortally wounded man;
2d) Eze 30:25a, I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down;
2c) Eze 30:25b, They shall know that I am YHVH, when I put My sword into the hand Babylon’s king against Egypt;
2b) Eze 30:26a, I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations + disperse them throughout the countries;
2a) Eze 30:26b {p} Then they shall know that I am YHVH.
