Eze 34 chiastic structure:
1a) Eze 34:1-10 {s} Indictment against the shepherds of Israel, who abused + scattered My flock;
1a) Eze 34:1-2a, Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel;
1b) Eze 34:2b, Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds;
1c) Eze 34:2c-3, Woe to the shepherds who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks;
1d) Eze 34:4, You did not strengthen, heal, bind up, bring back, or seek My flock, but ruled them with cruelty;
1e) Eze 34:5a, So they were scattered because there was no shepherd;
1f) Eze 34:5b, They became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered;
central axis) Eze 34:6, “My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them;”
2f) Eze 34:7-8a, Because My flock became a prey + food for every beast of the field;
2e) Eze 34:8b, Because there was no shepherd;
2d) Eze 34:8c, Nor did My shepherds search for My flock;
2c) Eze 34:8d, But the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock;
2b) Eze 34:9, Therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the Lord!
2a) Eze 34:10 {s} I am against the shepherds + will require My flock of them/ I will deliver My flock from them;
1b) Eze 34:11-16a, I will search for My sheep, bring them back/ feed them on the mountains of Israel;
1a) Eze 34:11-13a, I Myself will search for My sheep + deliver them + bring them back from the peoples;
1b) Eze 34:13b, I will feed them on the mountains of Israel;
central axis) Eze 34:14a, I will feed them in good pasture;
2b) Eze 34:14b-15, On the high mountains of Israel I will feed My flock + make them lie down;
2a) Eze 34:16, I will seek + bring back what was lost + driven away/ bind up + strengthen the broken + sick;
1c) Eze 34:16b-17, I will destroy the fat + strong/ judge between sheep + sheep, rams + goats;
central axis) Eze 34:18-19 {p} “Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture—and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet? And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet;”
2c) Eze 34:20-22, I will judge between the fat + lean sheep/ I will save My flock, they will no longer be a prey;
1a) Eze 34:20, Behold, I Myself will judge between the fat and the lean sheep;
1b) Eze 34:21, You have pushed + butted the weak with your horns/ scattered them abroad;
central axis) Eze 34:22a, Therefore I will save My flock;
2b) Eze 34:22b, And they shall no longer be a prey;
2a) Eze 34:22c, And I will judge between sheep and sheep;
2b) Eze 34:23-24, I will establish one shepherd who will feed them—My servant David;
2a) Eze 34:25-29, Restoration of My flock, their covenant of peace regathered to their land;
1a) Eze 34:25-27a, I will make a covenant of peace with them/ blessing + fruitfulness of the land;
1b) Eze 34:27b, They shall be safe in their land; and they shall know that I am the Lord;
central axis) Eze 34:27c-28a, “When I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those who enslaved them. And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them;”
2b) Eze 34:28b, But they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid;
2a) Eze 34:29, I will raise up for them a garden/ no more hunger/ no more shame of the Gentiles;
conclusion) Eze 34:30-31 {p} “Thus they shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord God. “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God.
