Hate crimes prevention act of 2009

… passed the House yesterday. The Senate is voting on the bill today. It is largely a federal attempt to give protected status to homo[s-x]uals, by raising gender identity to the same level as race in non- discrimination law. You know if the Senate passes this bill, the president will sign it. Then our only hope will be to have the Supreme Court declare it unconstitutional, as an abridgment of free speech. Although that would be the right ruling, as it is an abridgment of free speech, I am not setting store by that. Please call your Senators today.
