David is a Prophetic Type for Messiah. We saw in 2 Sam 9 that the kindness David extended was the same lovingkindness that God extends to us because of Messiah Yeshua. God does not reject us. But when man rejects God’s mercy, they make themselves His enemy.
For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 1 Cor 15:25

Notice that the structure begins with treatment of a neighbor, and moves toward the center, with the results for the city. By loving our neighbor who lives next to us, we are blessing and exalting our city. By disparaging our neighbor who lives next to us — that is wickedness — we are overthrowing our city (vs. 11). I have a feeling the ripple effect continues, and if we want to bless and exalt our states and nation as well, we ought to look well to our neighbor. ♥

We can know the will of God. If someone were seeking the direction of God’s will for their life, start with the general will of God for all mankind (Do not worship idols, honor the Sabbath day to keep it holy, do not murder, do not steal, and so on as the Ten Commandments summarize) and begin to implement it. The people who actually do this are relatively few and far between, and when someone sets their heart on obedience to God, believe me, it gets His attention.
