ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
2 Samuel 7, Building the House for YHVH’s Name
Additional studies: 1 and 2 Samuel Index
David wanted to build a house for YHVH, but YHVH used this oppostunity to prophesy to David that He, in fact, will build David’s house, his sons and progeny. And that it would be his son who would build the house for YHVH’s name. David’s son Solomon did in fact build the Temple of YHVH in Jerusalem, but it is David’s Son Messiah Yeshua who is building the eternal house for YHVH’s name out of living stones – you and me! We are the dwelling place of the Spirit of YHVH in these days!
Proverbs 10, The Proud Fool
Additional studies: Proverbs Index
What the simple will inherit, if they have not turned from foolishness to wisdom, is folly, from proud fool, Strong’s H191, eviyl. The proud fool is next in the progression of foolishness following the simpleton. Strong’s says the root means, “to be perverse,” that is, according to Webster’s, “to be turned away from what is right or good; to be obstinate in opposing what is right or reasonable; to be marked by perversion.”
1 Thessalonians 3, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: 1 and 2 Thessalonians Index
Why are we appointed to affliction and tribulation? Why can’t life just be easy? Life was easy. Adam and Eve had it easy as long as they obeyed God’s single commandment. The day they disobeyed that commandment, the ease of life went away. God is teaching us that He gives commandment, not to burden us as is commonly but wrongly thought today, but to increase and protect our ease of life! But we are living in the world, not being a part of it. The world is at enmity with God, and therefore by extension, at enmity with us. The closer we get to God, and to walking in His ways, the more we align ourselves in the crosshairs of this world.
