ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
1 Chronicles 17, Building YHVH’s House
Additional studies: 1 and 2 Chronicles Index
What house is Yeshua building for YHVH? It is not a brick and mortar building (Joh 2:19-21). He is building the house of His body, which is us, the assembly of believers (Eph 1:22-23). We are the dwelling place of His Spirit and of His presence in the earth in these days (1 Cor 3:16). We are the third temple.
Proverbs 22:1-29, Chiastic structure

The commonality is the rod, the rod of anger compared to the rod of correction. I think it is in fact contrasting them. Vs. 15 seems to be saying, that the one who uses the rod of correction with his child, will be successful in driving foolishness from his heart. It is a positive outcome. But vs. 8 is presenting a negative outcome: reaping sorrow. I think it is because the rod of anger is not the same thing as the rod of correction. The rod of anger will not succeed in driving foolishness from the heart of a child, but the rod of anger fails. In fact, the one who wields the rod of anger is in reality themselves sowing iniquity, from which he will reap sorrow. You will lose your child’s heart, in other words (speaking from experience here). Foolishness is not driven from them but entrenched in them instead. You do not wish that sorrow on your worst enemy!
Luke 3, The baptism with fire
Additional studies: Luke Index
John tells the people, that unless they repent, bringing forth good fruit testifying of their repentance, of which his baptism with water was the sign, they would be burnt with unquenchable fire in judgment, when Jesus comes as Judge. You might say that water baptism is a Natural Picture of a greater spiritual reality, that of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, that is, the fire baptism. It seems to be saying that fire is inevitable, either without in judgment, or within in baptism, our choice.
