I have been following the Bill Nye and Ken Ham debate all week. The debate is archived here, the video of it is on YouTube, and the post debate Answers Live is here. “Ken Ham” was the number one trending topic on facebook all day Wednesday until late afternoon, when I saw this. “Pat Robertson: Pat Robertson begs Ken Ham to shut up.”
Here is the video. Wow, I couldn’t believe it. But I did know that Answers in Genesis has historically received more attacks from the church than from atheists.
Now, setting aside for a moment the fact that Pat Robertson has put his foot in his mouth more times than I can count, I ask myself, why should Ken Ham shut up? Does Scripture have anything to say to science, and does Scripture address the topic of origins and the age of the earth so that the Church can have a unified belief on this matter? Yes and yes.
