Luk 24:1-53 Chiastic Structure:
And beginning from Moses and from all the Prophets, He explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Luk 24:27
“For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.” Joh 5:46
Moses wrote about Messiah, so much so, in fact, that I believe every page of the first five books of Moses (Torah) declares Messiah Yeshua and the Gospel of grace in some way. We learned in Leviticus 23 that each of YHVH’s feasts prophesy of Messiah Yeshua in amazing ways. The annual feasts occuring in the spring, are:
Passover (Lev 23:4-5) is celebrated in the evening of the 14th of the 1st biblical month. It bears witness to the Passover Lamb, Messiah Yeshua, who was crucified on this day, and shed His blood for our sins, that the angel of death might pass over us.
For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 1 Cor 5:7b
Unleavened Bread (Lev 23:6-8) is celebrated for 7 days beginning on the 15th of the 1st biblical month. The feast meal of Passover opens the Unleavened Bread holiday. Its first day is a High Holy Sabbath–one of the annual Sabbaths–which does not necessarily fall on the weekly Saturday Sabbath, but can fall on any day of the week. It bears witness that we have been forgiven of sin by the blood of Messiah Yeshua. Therefore we cleanse our lives of sin, as Israel cleansed their houses of leaven, and strive to keep our lives free of sin.
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. 1 Cor 5:7a
Firstfruits of the Barley Harvest (Lev 23:9-14) is celebrated on the day after the Sabbath that falls during the week of Unleavened Bread. Thus it is always celebrated on a Sunday. The barley harvest, the first harvest of the spring after winter, is the metaphor for new life after death. It bears witness of Yeshua’s resurrection from the dead, who was raised from the dead with new life on this day.
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 1 Cor 15:20
