Jeremiah 3 and 4, Healing our backsliding

The structure highlights the house of Israel’s and the house of Judah’s besetting sin: backsliding, not remaining faithful to her husband YHVH. The structure reveals the root cause of backsliding: not having a wholly circumcised heart toward YHVH. But the beauty of the 1D pair and its solution to the central problem, is how YHVH heals their backsliding: They shall no more say or make the ark of the covenant of YHVH, because the throne of God will not be on a box, but in Zion, the city of God, of which they will become citizens. The Law of God will no longer be kept in a box, but in new hearts, wholly circumcised toward YHVH. ♥

The focus of the 1A pair is salvation, the ministry of Yeshua in His first coming. The focus of the 2A pair is return and judging justly, what is prophesied of the ministry of Yeshua in His second coming. I find it interesting, in the 1A pair, that He has revealed His salvation to the ends of the earth. To the nations He has revealed His righteousness, but to Israel, His covenant people, He has remembered His mercy and faithfulness. The wonderful thing about God, is that He has opened the Door (Joh 10:7) to the 70 nations to return to Him, and be grafted in to His covenant nation, through Israel’s Root and Savior, Messiah Yeshua (Rom 11:17).

The central axis of the entire book is that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Holy Scripture is the wrapping surrounding this central point. Knowing them, being immersed in them, and receiving their instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction, and exhortation is necessary to grow up into completeness. Wrapping the Holy Scripture are the ungoldly imposters, who present themselves as men of God but are not, and their counterpart, the ungodly hearers. Neither of them know the Holy Scripture, even if they claim to, nor receive its instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction, and exhortation in godliness.
