Essential Studies.
Jeremiah 7 and 8, Rejecting the word of YHVH
Additional studies: Jeremiah Index (coming)
If we have rejected His appointed times (moedim, or feast days), we have rejected the doorway of obedience to the Ten, and thus obedience to God Himself, for He gave His people the Sabbath commandment before they had arrived at Mt. Sinai to test whether they would obey Him or not (Exo 16:4-5). Let’s turn away from believing the word of a man who said, God’s Law has passed away, rather than believing the word of Yeshua, who said, “As long as heaven and earth endures, so My Law will endure” (Mat 5:17-19).
Psalm 100, Reverse parallelism
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Four: Psalms 90-106 Index
What this really means, as that only those who worship YHVH know that He is God. Others may give mental assent to the fact, but the truth the Scripture teaches is that mental assent is not enough. Mental assent without corresponding action is no knowledge at all.
Titus 2, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Titus Index
In the 2B pair, grace toward salvation is the matching pair with zealousness for good works. Grace is not the opposite or enemy of works, but grace makes goodness and godliness possible. His grace has appeared to all men (as Jesus died for the sins of the whole world) and now God is calling all men everywhere to repent (Act 17:30) of sin, of Law-lessness (disregarding the Torah or Law of God), of ungodliness. The grace of God teaches those who have received it to deny ungodliness and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age (C pair).
