Do not reject the plea for repentance when you hear it, for YHVH is waiting to have mercy on you! But if you harden your heart and stiffen your neck, then disaster is decreed against you.
Psalm 109, The accusations of the wicked
Additional studies: Psalms Book Five: 107-150 Index
The Hebrew word for “accuser” is satan. This might even be in the footnote of your Bible. This throws light on Rev 12:9-11! The devil begins his work with his mouth. Remember that Jesus said of him, that he was a liar and the father of lies (Joh 8:44)? When we think of wickedness, we tend to think of actions. But wickedness begins with thoughts, first, and proceeds to words, which are just voiced thoughts. So that is why, whenever you hear the accusation in your heart, you know who is speaking that to you. It is not God. God edifies and encourages. God’s angel said to Gideon, who was hiding in the wine press, “Hail, you mighty man of valor!”
When we allow our mouths to be used to accuse another, we have just partnered with Satan in his work. Let not a wicked mouth be found among us, O God!
