revelation 10

Read Revelation 10 at Bible Gateway.

Rev 10:1-9b structure

1a) Rev10:1-2, I saw a mighty angel/ He had in his hand a little open book/ his feet on the sea + land;

1b) Rev 10:3a, He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars;

1c) Rev 10:3b-4, Seven thunders uttered/ Seal up their utterance + don’t write them;

central axis) Rev 10:5-6a, The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky, and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it;

2c) Rev 10:6b-7, In the days of the seventh angel about to sound, the mystery of God is finished, as He declared to the prophets;

2b) Rev 10:8a, The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me;

2a) Rev 10:8b-9b, Take the open book in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea + land/ I went to him;

1a) Rev 10:8b, Said: Go, take the book which is open;
1b) Rev 10:8c, In the hand of the angel;
central axis) Rev 10:8d, Who stands on the sea and on the land;
2b) Rev 10:9a, I went to the angel;
2a) Rev 10:9b, Telling him to give me the little book.

Rev 10:5-11 structure

1a) Rev 10:5-7, The angel swore by Him who created all, that in the days of the seventh angel, the mystery of God is finished as He declared to His servants the prophets;

1b) Rev 10:8a, The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me;

1c) Rev 10:8b-9b, Take the open book in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea + land/ I went to him;

central axis) Rev 10:9c, He said to me: Take it, and eat it up;

2c) Rev 10:9d-10c, I took the book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up/ sweet, then bitter;

1a) Rev 10:9d, It will make your stomach bitter;
1b) Rev 10:9e, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey;”
central axis) Rev 10:10a, I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up;
2b) Rev 10:10b, It was as sweet as honey in my mouth;
2a) Rev 10:10c, When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter;

2b) Rev 10:11a, They told me;

2a) Rev 10:11b, “You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
