Essential Studies.
Deuteronomy 22, Preserving the purity of marriages, the next generation, and the land
Additional studies: Deuteronomy Index
The Pattern already established teaches us, that a land which has been protected and not polluted, comes from the next generation that has been protected and not polluted. Just as the state of the next generation is the fruit of the state of the marital union, the state of the land is the fruit of the state of the next generation. To establish a land of purity and integrity, we must first establish a next generation of purity and integrity. To establish a next generation of purity and integrity, we must first establish, support, and protect the purity and integrity of the marital union.
Isaiah 20, The Savior and the Mighty One
Additional studies: Isaiah Index
In Isaiah’s lifetime, Judah was divided from Israel, Assyria was everyone’s enemy, and Egypt was an unreliable ally (outer bookends). But the central axis highlights that Israel is one of three with Assyria and Egypt, a blessing in the midst of the earth. That is, due to the Savior and the Mighty One (Isa 19:20), Judah and Israel are reunited, and Assyria and Egypt are no longer enemies or perilous neighbors, but beloved brothers in God’s triumvirate of blessing.
Psalm 67, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Two: Psalms 42-72 Index
God will judge the people righteously, and Himself govern the nations of the earth when Messiah Yeshua returns to rule and reign for 1000 years (central axis, Rev 20:4-6). As the earth increases in the knowledge of God’s way and salvation, the fruitfulness of the earth shall increase (B pair). The Hebrew word torah (the knowledge of God’s way and path) incidentally comes from the Hebrew root word yarah, the agricultural term that means, the heavens cast forth rain, and the earth casts forth fruit.
