Yeshua was a sharp sword, a polished arrow in YHVH’s quiver, but because the plan of the gospel was hidden to the rulers of this age, they crucified the Lord of glory. He was cut off in the prime of life, so that it seemed as if Yeshua labored in vain. Yet His vindication was with YHVH. He was raised from the dead, and by His death and resurrection destroyed forever the plans, purposes, and power of the enemy!
Psalm 85, Reverse parallelism

In this psalm which celebrates the end of God’s wrath, and the coming of His forgiveness, mercy, and salvation, isn’t it interesting that mercy and truth have met together, and righteousness and peace have kissed? We picture mercy, grace, forgiveness, and peace with God the opposite of righteousness and the truth of God’s Word (expressed in His Law and His commandments). But in Scripture, mercy and truth are sisters, not enemies. Mercy wholly and truly received bears the fruit of righteousness! For He will speak peace to His people, but let them not turn back to folly, foolishness, or sin … for His mercy is never a license to sin, but deliverance from its bondage!
1 Timothy 1, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: 1 & 2 Timothy Index
Notice that the Law is the flip side of Mercy, and both express the love of God. The Law is love for the unrepentant, because the greatest gift someone who is unrepentant can receive, is the knowledge that their sin is evil and will cause their ultimate destruction. Mercy is love for the repentant, because the instant someone’s knees hit the ground, saying, I repent of my sin, God in His great love extends mercy which covers the multitude of their sins and transgressions of the Law. ♥
