The call to come, to drink and eat that which truly satisfies (Isa 55:1) is universal: “Everyone” means, every person there is; it’s all-inclusive. It is echoed in Yeshua’s “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden” (Mat 11:28). “All” means, the whole amount, quantity, or extent of; the whole number or sum of. Yeshua’s “Come to Me” echoes Isaiah’s yalak, come, movement toward.

Back to the Psalm. Jerusalem is founded in the mountains of Israel, but notice that the city of God is not named Jerusalem but Zion. Jerusalem is the natural city, and Zion is the spiritual city. And those who are born in her, have their citizenship in the city of God. How is one born in a spiritual city rather than in a natural city such as Babylon?
Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
