The Feast of Trumpets, and the season of the fall feast days, begins Saturday evening this year, with the sighting of the new moon. Every year at this time, we look up, for our redemption draweth nigh. The fall feast days prophesy of the second coming of Jesus the Messiah, just as the spring feast days prophesy of His first coming.

I do believe that the actual day of the Feast of Trumpets is the day we will hear the angel blowing the loud trumpet blast announcing the return of Jesus. This blast will be so loud, that the dead in Christ will be wakened:
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Cor 15:51-52
Every year we celebrate this feast with the greatest anticipation, for this might be the year that we hear that last trumpet sounding. If not this year, it will be one of these years. Until then, we, by celebrating the feast in faith, prophetically proclaim His return, shining as lights of witness in a dark world.
