But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. Mat 5:39
Even after 32 years of walking with the Lord, turning the other cheek is still one of the hardest things for me to do. When I am slapped, my human nature wants to fight for my rights and my honor. Not divest myself of those things.
Jesus divested Himself of both rights and honor.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Phi 2:5-8
May I take up my cross, and follow Him.
