1 Kings 22, Ahab’s guilty house

God does not clear the guilty. Scripture treats the house of Ahab as a unit; and Ahab’s idolatry (1 Kin 21:26) poisons his line. Ahaziah is raised in the ways of his parents, so he inherits their sin and doubles down on it (1 Kin 22:53, “according to all his father did”). Ahaziah isn’t innocent; he also “did evil … and walked in the way of his father… and served the Baal” (1 Kin 22:52-53). He chose Ahab’s path for himself, so the judgment of YHVH which is coming, is against a guilty house, and not an innocent one.

The parable being told by the Hebrew Root Word, is of the cross (tav) covered by the mighty (mem) blood (mem), which finishes and makes complete. Whose mighty blood covered the cross, but the blood of Messiah Yeshua! His blood results in integrity which can be judged of YHVH, and pass judgment.
Millennia before Yeshua’s advent, before it was known what His ministry would be in His first advent (for even the rulers of this age did not know what the result would be if they crucified the Lord of glory, 1 Cor 2:7-8), here is the beautiful Hebrew language, prophesying of Messiah and of the Gospel of grace!

We can see from the way one structure follows the other upon its heels, the reason God has given miraculous gifts through the Holy Spirit to His people. Of course He loves people and wants to help and heal them. But more importantly than physical healing is spiritual healing: that people would hear the words of the Prophet whom God has raised up like Moses, by hearing the words of His disciples who are witnesses of Him. What God has done here is brilliant marketing strategy: He used the occasion of the man lame from birth being healed, to build a platform for Peter and John, essentially putting a megaphone in their hands, so that people, because of the miracle, would come running to see, and fix their attention on Peter and John.
Peter quickly grasped the situation and what God was doing, and seized his opportunity, saying, Why do you look at us as though it were by our own power or godliness we had made this man well? No, it was in the name of Yeshua, Messiah of Israel.
