Essential Studies.
1 Chronicles 15 and 16, Worship ordered before YHVH (Additional studies: 1 and 2 Chronicles Index)
David ordered the worship, morning and evening, before YHVH.
To worship is Strong’s H7812, שחה shachah, “to bow oneself down.” The ancient pictographs are shin + chet + hey.
shin ש = two front teeth (sharp, press, eat, two, again)
chet ח = wall (outside, divide, half)
hey ה = man w/ raised arms (look, reveal, wonder, worship, breath)
The parable being told by the Hebrew Root Word is of the sharp (shin) wall (chet), as the wall of a pit dug into the ground, according to the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon. The sharp walls which go straight down illustrate the act of bowing down (shin + chet) in worship (hey). Simply put: biblical worship venerates Him and not us. The music is about Him and not us. And there is far more to worship than singing songs or playing music (although today’s reading codifies the worship – music link). Every time we obey Him, we have bowed ourselves down to the ground before Him.
