ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
1 Samuel 19, More Signs of Messiah
Additional studies: 1 and 2 Samuel Index
Three times David fled, and escaped (1 Sam 19:10, 1 Sam 19:12, and 1 Sam 19:18). Three, a Sign of Messiah in Scripture, is pointing out that David escaped certain death (also a Sign of Messiah, the sign of Resurrection Life). And the central axis of the structure continues to point out that David as a Messiah Prophetic Type prevails mightily over his enemies.
Psalm 146, Reverse Parallelism
Additional studies: Psalms Book Five (107-150) Index
There is no strong paragraph division {p} at the end of the psalm as is usual. I looked ahead, and there isn’t another strong paragraph division until the end of Psa 150, so Psa 146-150 is proclaiming a single theme: Praise to YHVH, the only fitting conclusion to to the hymn book of Israel!
Philippians 1, Chiastic snip
Additional studies: Philippians Index
We see that chains, insincere brethren, impure motives, and even adversaries and the suffering of the Church, all work together to proclaim the everlasting gospel of Messiah. This is no prosperity gospel, but the word of truth from the Scripture. That is our purpose on this earth, to witness to Him, and we do so in many ways and not just with our mouths. Thus, all is to the praise and glory of God! ♥
