God is warning Judah to repent now while there is still time, for the day is coming, if they do not repent, when there will be nothing left but judgment. This is the gospel of grace: the Door to heaven, Yeshua, is standing open (Rev 4:1), and mercy is being poured out; but the day is coming when the door will be shut. Today is the day of salvation. Warning, warning! Do not harden your heart as those men did, past the point of no return. Repent, return today!
Psalm 103, Reverse parallelism
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Four: Psalms 90-106 Index
The steadfast mercy of YHVH and His forgiveness is the central portion of the structure. Wrapping that, are His ways which He made known to Moses. The matching pair reveals that His ways are expressed in His covenant by His commandments. God did not just pull commandments out of thin air and give them to Moses. He encoded the way He Himself walks so that His children could walk in His ways after Him. When you love Him whose commandments they are, keeping them is not a burden but a delight! ♥
