This is the first chapter in the Bible where women appear in the usually male roles of prophet, judge, and victor over enemies. Women are usually excluded from these roles because they are uniquely designed to serve as of nurturers, mothers, and makers of home. Men are uniquely designed with greater strength to serve in the roles of authority, to be providers, protectors, and military victors. But when men will not stand up, then the Spirit finds whom He will.

Wait a minute Christine, how can you say Psa 126:5-6 in any way relates to returning from the north? Ha ha, I love God’s Word! If we look up Meshech in Hebrew, the name actually means, “a drawing out, as sowing seed in a furrow.” In Psa 120, the exiles were in woe and sorrow, among Meshech (sowing the seed); in Psa 126, the exiles are full of rejoicing, having returned with a harvest! ♥

Today I just want to note the C pair, about the Sabbath. Many people use Yeshua’s saying that the Sabbath was made for man, and the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath (1C), as license to ignore the Sabbath command altogether. But who in fact did not ignore the Sabbath command, though He is Lord of it? Yeshua! He rested in the grave on the Sabbath and was raised from the dead when the Sabbath was past (2C). A disciple does what his Master does, Amen?
