Gen 1:1-7:24 chiastic structure.
The C pair stood out to me today. They are forced together by the undeniable elements surrounding them, but how do they pair? Simply this: what His children need, He provides. Adam needed a helper fit for him, and YHVH provided it. Noah needing saving from the wrath coming upon the earth, and YHVH instructed him in exactly what to do, even to the providing of building blueprints. There is another commonality between the need of both Adam and Noah. Neither of them knew, at first, what they lacked. They did not even know they needed to ask for something, or what it was they should ask for. YHVH provided for that too! Will He do less for us, who have been purchased with the precious blood of His Son Yeshua?
Then in Matthew 3, just as Noah was fleeing from the wrath by water to come upon the world, so John upbraids the Pharisees and Saduccees:
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Mat 3:7-12
For the wrath now coming on the world because of unrepented sin, is a wrath of unquenchable fire. But Yeshua is the ark of our salvation!
