Joh 8:1-59 Chiastic Structure:
The structure brings out some surprising truths. God gets labeled as vengeful, wrathful, angry, and judgmental, but when it was up to Yeshua to condemn the woman caught in adultery, He did not condemn her. He did tell her to sin no more, so He did not condone her sin. But He did not accuse her or condemn her.
Isn’t it interesting that the ones who sought an accusastion against her, and sought her condemnation, were the religious professionals. And they were the same ones who sought an accusation against Yeshua (vs. 6.) The ones who sought to take up stones to cast them at the woman, were the same ones who took up stones to cast them at Yeshua.
In their discussion with Him, it comes out that even though they have Abraham for their natural father, they do not have God for their spiritual Father, but rather the devil, who is a liar and the father of lies (some people censure all Jews because some of them had the devil for their father. Every group is in fact, a mix of some who have God for their Father, and some who have the devil for their father.) He is the father of the accusatory spirit, as well.
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” Rev 12:9-10
When you hear an accusatory condemnation in your heart or mind, remember whose voice you are hearing. It isn’t God’s. When I hear that accusatory voice, this is what I do. I say, outloud,
“I refuse to receive or believe that thought in my heart or mind. I reject that thought, and I reject the father of that thought. Depart from me, in the name of Yeshua!”
And he will depart (if not immediately, repeat, until he and his lying and accusatory thoughts depart).
