ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
Song of Solomon 7 and 8, The seal upon your heart

So as we have been seeing throughout the Song of Solomon, that Solomon is a type of Messiah, who is the son of David. Messiah Yeshua is our Beloved and our Bridegroom, and we are His Beloved and His Bride. Yes, we are to set Him as the seal upon our hearts—just as He has already set us as the seal upon His heart. It is easy to read this passage and think of what our love for Him should be. But we also need to realize, that this passage describes the depth of His love for us. Nothing can quench it!
Psalm 1, Reciprocal Regard

But notice something amazing upon which the Chiastic Structure shines a spotlight. The righteous man has regard for—nay, delights in—the Torah (Hebrew of “Law”) of YHVH, and meditates in it day and night. YHVH then has regard for the way of the righteous man. “To regard,” is to maintain a protective interest in, to care for, to attend to, to have consideration of, according to Webster’s. We will see this reciprocal relationship between YHVH and the righteous man, who delights in YHVH, expressed throughout the Psalms.
Luke 11, Clean and Unclean Food

The other point to ponder is this: we learned that the purpose of obeying Torah was not to benefit God, it is to benefit us. Those who obey the commandments will have blessings that pertain to this life (Deu 28:1-14), and that includes health for the physical body. If pigs were unhealthy for humans to consume in 100 BC, how did the resurrection of Jesus change the nature of the pig so that they are now healthy for humans to consume in 100 AD and beyond? A proper understanding of Scripture harmonizes its parts so that it flows logically and consistently, and undergirds its parts to make a coherent whole.
