God does not want His people to suffer consequences or judgment! The way He protects His people from those things, is by giving them His word, and asking them to obey it. When we obey His word, and do not turn from it to the right or to the left, then we do not have to worry about whether we can discern deceptions or not — His word protects us from them. It is so important to know what is in God’s word and what He has already said, because nothing He says today will contradict what He has said yesterday. He is the unchanging and immovable God, and His word likewise does not change or move.
Psalm 16, On multiplying sorrows

So this is where the idol comes in, as a carved image, something man expends labor upon to produce. But I can’t stop thinking about worry as a vexing or painful sorrow. Isn’t a worry something we ourselves fashion or build out of future events? We imagine a worst-case scenario that has not yet come about, and then grieve over it. To worry is to carve an idol, in other words. We build something in our minds, and then take it for truth instead of the promises of God’s word. Let me be the first to repent of that idolatry right now, Father.
Luke 22, Are You the Son of God?
Additional studies: Luke Index
The way Luk 22:70 has been traditionally rendered into English – “You say that I am” – always sounded like a deflection to me. That is, “Hey, don’t pin that on Me; I’m not the one saying it, you are!” an examination of the Greek of the Textus Receptus, however, reveals that Jesus applied the personal name of God, I AM, to Himself. He was not deflecting their accusation, as there is no negation present in the Greek grammar, which would be required if that were the case. He was affirming their accusation. And the council’s reaction? “Blasphemy!”
