When Judah would not repent at the preaching of the prophets sent to her, the destruction came, but notice the bad news isn’t the end of the story? All those lost to the Assyrian captivity – the northern kingdom, the Ten Lost Tribes – will be regathered, and all those banished to the Egyptian deportation (post destruction, 2 Kin 25:22-26) will come. It is not that same generation, of course, but YHVH will note all who have descended from them, and will gather them one by one, from the Euphrates to the Nile. (Teshuvah Day 25 of 40)

My enemies are mighty who would destroy me, but YHVH is mighty who would save me. He is MIGHTIER, in fact! He has proved to be mightier than Pharaoh when he enslaved Israel. He has proved to be mightier than Amalek, Haman, and the entire kingdom of Persia. He will again prove Himself to be mightier than Iran and even the nuclear weapons of madmen.

The central axis of the entire book is that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Holy Scripture is the wrapping that surrounds this central point. Knowing them, being immersed in them, and receiving their instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction, and exhortation is necessary to grow up into completeness. Wrapping the Holy Scripture are the ungoldly imposters, who present themselves as men of God but are not, and their counterpart, the ungodly hearers. Neither of these know the Holy Scripture, even if they claim to, nor receive its instruction, reproof, rebuke, correction, and exhortation in godliness. May we all be wise, and come to the Holy Scripture with a submitted heart, ready to receive the truth and act on it!
