How many have read or seen a reference to the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages of history in books or documentaries? Archaeology splits early human history into these: Stone Age (stone/ bone tools, ending ~2000 BC), Bronze Age (bronze and early cities, ~3000 BC), and Iron Age (iron tools, ~1200 BC). These dates vary by region, but they show how tools shaped life mankind’s early life (edited from Infogalactic.com).
But today we learn, according to the Plain Meaning teaching tool, that the first urban civilization was built by Cain, which he named Enoch after his son. He could no longer till the ground for food, so his city was the first commercial center where food producers could trade their food for wares. Urban civilization and tool forging in metals—both of bronze and iron—grew up together.
And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of bronze and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah. Gen 4:22
Critics reject this this conclusion, favoring their interpretations over Scripture. Yet, God’s inspired Word in Genesis records the accurate history of mankind, showing a truer past, challenging man’s timeline.
