ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
Numbers 3, The firstborn who belong to YHVH
Additional studies: Numbers Index
The Levites served as a shadow until the true Firstborn over all creation—Yeshua our Messiah—stepped in perfectly to serve God in all things regarding the tabernacle made without hands (Heb 9:11). He redeemed us fully—no shortfall, no extra silver needed—and set us apart into our reasonable service as a living sacrifice before God (Rom 12:1). Through Messiah, God turned “Mine by right of deliverance” into “Mine by right of love and redemption.”
Ruth 1 and 2, The historical context
Additional studies: Ruth Index
I love the story of Ruth! It is true History that Prophesies of all who are foreigners to Israel, as we were, coming out from our father’s houses and our pagan and worldly ways that we learned in our father’s houses, and hearing of YHVH God, that He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and clinging to Him for His sake! He welcomes us with open arms, as Naomi welcomed Ruth and Boaz welcomed Ruth, even though she was a foreigner.
Psalm 135, Momentary, light afflictions
Additional studies: Psalms Book Five (107-150) Index
Everything in my life could be crashing down around me, or I could just be having a bad day. Or a good one, for that matter. But no matter what tribulation I am experiencing in the world at this moment, it is forever true that it is pleasant to sing praises unto His name. Refocus my attention, the Father encourages me, off of my troubles, and on to Himself. With my attention focused on Him, I gain proper perspective, and my troubles shrink to their appropriate miniscule size. I can be of good cheer, for Jesus has overcome the world. The tribulation of this world may even result in my death, as it does every day for Christian martyrs in other parts of the world, but by His resurrection Jesus has conquered death. Death, the last enemy, is a defeated foe. How much more today’s momentary, light afflictions? ♥
